This privacy policy explains how Obsessed Cakes handles information when you visit the site, contact me, click links, submit a review, or sign up for recipe emails.

Information you choose to send

If you email me, message me, or use a contact or signup form, I may receive your name, email address, message, social handle, and any details you choose to include. I use that information to reply, manage inquiries, and keep track of recipe or project notes.

The contact form uses Formspree to process the information you enter and deliver your message. Formspree may also process technical information, including your IP address, to operate the service and help prevent spam. You can read the Formspree privacy policy.

Recipe ratings and reviews

If you submit a recipe rating or review, I receive the name, email address, rating, comment, and technical information needed to limit spam. Approved names, ratings, and comments may be published on the recipe page. Email addresses are used for moderation or necessary follow-up and are never published with a review.

Analytics and site performance

Obsessed Cakes uses Google Analytics and Vercel analytics and performance tools to understand how readers use the site, which pages are visited, and whether something is broken or slow. These tools may collect technical details such as browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring links, and general location.

Email

Obsessed Cakes uses Kit to manage recipe email subscriptions. When you sign up, your email address is sent to Kit. A recipe-save form also sends the title and link of the recipe you requested. You can unsubscribe using the link in a recipe email.

When Kit accepts a signup from this website, Google Analytics may record the page and form location that led to it. This measurement does not include your email address and is separate from confirming your subscription by email. Temporary browser storage helps prevent repeat counting within the same browser session.

Cookies and saved preferences

This site uses browser storage to remember saved recipes, recently viewed recipes, and whether you have seen the email signup prompt. Clearing browser storage may reset these preferences. Third-party analytics, advertising, and reader tools may also use cookies or similar technologies.
